Objectives: To help children develop a clear self-image, emotional strength, and a sense of inner peace. They will gain knowledge and understanding of their personal backgrounds. Young people are encouraged to enhance their emotional, intellectual, social, creative, and physical abilities, allowing them to discover their unique "sparkle."
Typical Annual Number of Sessions: 12-26 Virtual or On-Site Delivery
-
This service provides Psychological Therapy for children and young people using our unique GEMS model.
-
The GEMS approach serves as a structured framework that allows a Specialist Clinician to deliver integrative psychological therapy effectively.
-
Parents and caregivers are often invited to participate in these sessions to reinforce their role as primary co-regulators and to foster a strong relational bond with their child.
-
These therapy sessions are conducted alongside the TREASURE Parent Consultation, which is scheduled based on assessment recommendations and the agreed funding level.
-
The integrated therapies may include attachment, psychodynamic, systemic, humanistic, or cognitive-behavioural approaches, all framed within a neuro-sequential model.
-
It is advisable for these sessions to incorporate play or Theraplay © techniques, often involving the primary caregiver in each session.
-
Treasure Keepers utilize a neuro-sequential approach in their therapies, which is integrative and "bottom-up." This means that therapies are designed to engage the lower and mid-brain functions before reaching the higher brain.
-
This holistic approach addresses the body, relationships, experiences, and thoughts in a personalized manner for each young person.
-
Treasure Keepers have qualified and specialized practitioners selected to work within this service.
-
Sessions are typically offered every two weeks.
